2,4-Dihydroxybenzoic Acid CAS 89-86-1 Application
1. Pharm
It is a key intermediate for synthesizing various pharm , including antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, antioxidants, and anti-tumor drugs (such as certain salicylic acid derivatives). It can also be used in the preparation of biodegradable polymer drug carriers for controlled release and targeted drug delivery systems, and is widely applied in biochemical research to simulate natural phenolic acid metabolic pathways.
2. Dye Industry
As an important coupling component, it is mainly used in the production of acid mordant dyes, such as Acid Mordant Pink 3BM (about 157kg of this product is used per ton of dye). It can effectively improve the dyeing uniformity, light fastness and color fastness of dyes, and is an essential raw material in the dye industry.
3. Daily Chemical & Food Industry
In cosmetics, it is used as an intermediate for antioxidants, preservatives and skin conditioners, helping to stabilize formulations and inhibit microbial growth. In the food industry, it is a FEMA-approved natural equivalent flavor and flavor modifier, and can also be found in alcoholic beverages.
4. Analytical Reagents & Fine Chemicals
It is widely used as an analytical reagent for the colorimetric and spectrophotometric determination of metal ions such as iron, titanium, copper and aluminum, and can also be used as a matrix for matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) in chromatography and mass spectrometry. In fine chemicals, it is used to synthesize UV absorbers (for plastics, coatings and textiles), organic synthesis building blocks, and chelating agents for electroplating and surface treatment.
